Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of IT&S Finance portfolios across Technology, ensuring specific individual goals,

plans, and initiatives are executed/Delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all

activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Supports the processing and execution of the data Center Transit (DCT) and Global Technology Enterprise

Platforms (GTEP) Tasks Such As

  • Invoicing management and reconciliation activities, inclusive of expense tracking, JE preparation.
  • Manage and process invoices for Technology services using Smart Buy, PeopleSoft (PRC), ensuring

accuracy and compliance with internal financial procedures.

  • Submit invoices via Vera Smart and follow up with Transit Owners to ensure timely approvals and

resolution of any discrepancies.

  • Expense analysis and reporting.
  • Recovery/Chargeback calculation and processing.
  • Lead the end-to-end chargeback process for various Technology services, including cost validation,

stakeholder engagement, and reconciliation.

  • Work closely with Technology, Finance, and Transit teams to support transparency, cost recovery,

and continuous process improvement.

  • Oversight of expenses and management of accruals.
  • Reconciliation of GL accounts for monthly closure and attestation of balances.
  • Monthly reporting for executive requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and support internal reporting needs, including audit readiness and financial

reviews.

  • Participate actively in the Planning Season for IT&S Finance budget and consequently review monthly,

quarterly forecasts.

  • Closely work with CCA and GTEP tech team and the Budget owners looking for opportunities/efficiencies, while

delivering other duties outside of regular day-to-day activities.

  • Dynamic and detailed-oriented individual, who can multitask in a fast-paced environment, efficiently and

independently. Team player attitude with a willingness to pitch in when required.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships,

systems and knowledge.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and

decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s

Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and

effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance,

AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • A recognized undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline, or equivalent

qualification/experience.

  • 2+ years of hands-on business analysis, data, or procurement work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (particularly Excel and Power Point, Visio); and financial reporting software

working knowledge of Power BI is an asset.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to succinctly distill information.
  • Self-driven, highly energetic and team player attitude.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed, often on short notice.
  • Experience in Allocation of Cost within multiple business lines and definition of Drivers is an asset.
  • Analytical mind with critical thinking, able to juggle multiple competing priorities with attention to detail. Selfmotivated

individual with good organizational and time management skills able to pivot with changing priorities

during constrained timelines.

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with colleagues and internal/external customers.
