What You’ll Do
The COBRA Customer Support Specialist is an integral part of our customer support team, helping members, qualified beneficiaries, and employer groups navigate COBRA continuation coverage through timely, accurate, and empathetic support.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality customer service to COBRA participants and employer groups
- Respond to inquiries through ticketing systems, phone calls, and email communications
- Assist participants with COBRA enrollment, eligibility, elections, premium payments, and coverage questions
- Explain COBRA regulations, timelines, and plan-related information in a clear and professional manner
- Research and resolve participant issues while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures
- Meet and exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Identify and escalate complex issues when necessary
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of participant interactions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and member experience
- Contribute ideas that enhance operational efficiency and service quality
- Strong customer-focused mindset with a high level of empathy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
- Ownership mentality and accountability for outcomes
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- 1–3 years of experience in customer service, benefits administration, healthcare support, insurance, or related fields
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to receive feedback
- Experience working with COBRA administration or employee benefits
- Familiarity with U.S. healthcare and benefits terminology
- Experience supporting U.S.-based clients
- Experience working with SaaS platforms or benefits technology solutions
- Knowledge of HIPAA, COBRA regulations, or related compliance requirements
- $2,500,000 – $2,800,000 COP monthly salary
