Data Platform Architect – Azure & Snowflake at BairesDev

In this role, you'll take a greenfield Azure and Snowflake environment to a production-grade managed platform, replacing manual, ad hoc automation with modern, reliable infrastructure. Owning security and architecture decisions end to end, you'll work side by side with investment professionals, where client-facing communication matters as much as technical depth. This is your opportunity to build a modern data platform from the ground up in a regulated environment, shaping both the technical architecture and the trust that business stakeholders place in it.

What You'll Do

• Design and build Azure data architecture from the ground up, replacing manual processes with managed services.
• Set up Snowflake greenfield environments, including accounts, warehouses, RBAC, masking, and row-level security.
• Design access architecture using Entra ID and managed identity.
• Build event-driven ingestion pipelines, including change-triggered extraction, queues, and webhooks.
• Own security posture and architecture decisions in a regulated environment.
• Work directly with investment professionals as the client-facing technical authority.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture.
• Strong expertise in Azure data architecture.
• Hands-on experience with Azure managed data services, including Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, Functions, and ADLS Gen2.
• Proven experience with Snowflake greenfield setup, including accounts, warehouses, RBAC, masking, and row-level security.
• Experience designing access using Entra ID and managed identity, or Microsoft Graph.
• Experience with event-driven ingestion, including change-triggered extraction, queues, and webhooks.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
  
  

Nice To Have

• Experience with CI/CD using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep.
• Experience with observability and data alerting.
• Background owning security posture in regulated environments.
• Experience with REST API integrations such as CRM or market data vendors.
• Experience with retrieval and agent data layers, including context design and token cost awareness.
• Familiarity with Claude Code, Cowork skills, or MCP connectors.
• Experience with unstructured data lake design for document corpora.
• Background designing portable architecture that avoids vendor lock-in.
• Experience with entity resolution and master data matching.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Graph API, including SharePoint permissions.
• Experience with Snowflake Cortex or dbt.
• Private equity, investment management, or other regulated domain exposure.
