Mission

At Zelestra, we are looking for Plant Operators/Technicians for our La Mata photovoltaic plant located in La Gloria, Colombia. Their mission will be to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of the solar park, focusing on production-optimization tasks, adherence to maintenance plans, and compliance with availability and performance KPIs. All work must follow the company’s Safety & Occupational Health, quality, and environmental standards, applicable regulations, internal guidelines, and operating procedures.

They will also perform preventive, predictive, and/or corrective maintenance on plant equipment (inverters, tracking systems, protection relays), prepare maintenance reports for the park and the electrical substation, and maintain communication with the plant’s internal clients. This requires a strong awareness of the risks present in the solar parks, knowing how to prevent them and how to act when incidents occur.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance activities and assist in troubleshooting.
• Monitor systems and control operations.
• Verify completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
• Prepare maintenance reports on time.
• Maintain clear and timely communication with supervisors, team members, and stakeholders.
• Operate the plant in accordance with the O&M manual and the system operator’s requirements.
• Coordinate constantly with the Remote Operations Center (ROC) and service equipment according to ROC requirements.
• Report operational events and corrective actions to the ROC and team in real time.
• Support inventory checks for warehouse supplies, spare parts, and materials.
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly information through reports and the CMMS (GMAO) system.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Advanced technical degree in Electricity, Electronics, or Mechanics.
• Intermediate proficiency with office software tools.
• Knowledge of communication systems, SCADA, and video-surveillance systems.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in operation and maintenance within the renewable-energy sector, preferably in large-scale solar parks.
• Availability to work in a rotating-shift system.
