What you will be doing

The Country Product Manager is the direct owner of the ocean freight's product performance and development within the country, with overall responsibility for achieving volume and profitability targets.
This role requires working closely with the Country Managing Director, Commercial, and Head Operations teams to develop and execute ocean freight product strategy, drive commercial growth, and deliver business objectives.

Key responsibilities include managing country-level KPIs, pricing and tariff strategies, P&L performance, carrier management, and procurement. The position is also responsible for continuously identifying opportunities to improve product competitiveness, profitability, service quality, and overall market performance.

You will be contributing to that vision by…

• Drive and take ownership of the country Ocean Freight Product, including product initiatives, performance, and P&L to achieve agreed volume, revenue, and profitability targets.
• Implement the Core Carrier Policy locally as defined by the Regional FCL and LCL Product Managers and continuously monitor compliance and adherence to the agreed carrier strategy.
• Guide the Commercial team by providing competitive suggested selling rates for local charges, trucking, and other applicable ocean-related services.
• Accountable for driving the development, performance, and growth of the product within the country.
• Leads the execution of product strategy and initiatives in the local market.
• Manages day-to-day product operations and ensures business targets are achieved.
• Acts as the primary product representative within the country leadership team.
• Collaborates closely with Sales, Operations, and the Managing Director to develop the local product organization.
• Responsible for ensuring country product capabilities, resources, and expertise meet business requirements.
• Owns local carrier, and operational relationships related to product performance.
• Reports to Country Managing Director and Regional Product owner.

What skills & experience you will bring to us

• Fluency in local language and professional working proficiency in English, required to manage local commercial and operational stakeholders while coordinating with regional and global Air Freight teams.
• Relationship Management: Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with core carriers and GSAs, fostering collaboration, and driving performance improvements.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of global carrier policies, industry regulations, and market trends, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
• Negotiation Expertise: Demonstrated negotiation skills in securing favorable rates and agreements with carriers, ensuring competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
• Analytical Aptitude: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information and ideas to diverse audiences.
• Financial Acumen: Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management, with a keen understanding of cost structures and profitability drivers in the Air Freight industry.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solution oriented approach, adept at addressing challenges and finding creative solutions.
