POSITION SUMMARY
The FP&A Analyst – Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for supporting the company’s financial planning, forecasting, modeling, and performance analysis processes. This role provides forward-looking insights and decision support to senior leadership, enabling effective financial and strategic decision-making.
The position plays a critical role in developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models, as well as analyzing business performance across life insurance and investment-linked products, including premium growth, AUM development, and fee-based revenue streams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational plans.
- Update financial projections based on actual performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with Finance, Sales, Actuarial, and Operations teams to ensure consistency of assumptions.
- Financial Modeling
- Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning, product development, capital allocation, and strategic initiatives.
- Model key drivers such as premium growth, AUM, fee income, expenses, and profitability.
- Support scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate business risks and opportunities.
- Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Produce and analyze monthly financial reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Monitor key business metrics, including revenue, expenses, AUM growth, and profitability by product and channel.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to management.
- Strategic Decision Support
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decisions.
- Partner with business units (Sales, Product, Actuarial, Operations) to evaluate initiatives, investments, and performance.
- Support product profitability analysis and pricing discussions with relevant stakeholders.
- Data, Tools & Process Improvement
- Enhance financial reporting processes, dashboards, and analytical tools to improve efficiency and insight generation.
- Leverage advanced Excel, data tools, and AI-based approaches to improve modeling and analysis capabilities.
- Support the development of structured analytical frameworks and reporting automation.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Forecast Accuracy: Variance between forecasted and actual financial results.
- Budget Delivery: Timeliness and quality of budget preparation.
- Reporting Quality: Accuracy, clarity, and usefulness of financial reports and insights.
- Model Effectiveness: Reliability and usability of financial models for decision-making.
- Business Insight: Value and impact of recommendations provided to management.
- Process Efficiency: Improvements in reporting, modeling, and analytical workflows.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, financial modeling, or strategic finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Experience working with data-driven decision support and business partnering.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (required); experience with MS Access or other data tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled analysis or prompt-based tools is desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate financial data into clear business insights.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The role primarily operates in an in-door, climate-controlled office setting working in close proximity to others. Noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Light level provides adequate brightness for reading, computer work, and other tasks without causing glare or strain.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The job primarily involves sedentary work with prolonged periods sitting at a desk. While performing the duties of this job, employees may occasionally be expected to:
- exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- operate standard office equipment such as copiers, computers, telephones, printers, etc.
