Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to maintain, secure, and optimize our physical and virtual infrastructure. This role exercises independent judgment to support our gaming environments across Windows, Linux, and virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system analysis, automation scripting, infrastructure troubleshooting, and the creation of detailed implementation runbooks. Serving as a primary technical contact, you will ensure our infrastructure remains scalable, secure, and fully aligned with new product initiatives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in maintaining physical and virtual systems infrastructure services, remote access, availability, and security in our client's gaming environments.
- Perform systems modeling, analysis, and testing across Windows Server, Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), virtualization, storage, and automation platforms to support new products.
- Develop test plans, implementation plans, project timelines, runbooks, and rollback plans for infrastructure initiatives.
- Write functional requirements / specifications and maintain accurate system, automation, and operational documentation.
- Perform infrastructure troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose server, operating system, virtualization, storage, application platform, and connectivity issues.
- Build and maintain scripts and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar orchestration tools.
- Upgrade systems hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, firmware, virtual infrastructure components, and automation tooling as required.
- Serve as the primary contact for troubleshooting problems and developing innovative systems infrastructure solutions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other technical field, or equivalent work experience required.
- Technical certification in systems administration, virtualization, automation, security, Linux/Windows, or similar preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience in systems engineering, infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or a related technical role; gaming industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of several software, systems, virtualization, storage, automation, and network technologies.
- Experience administering Windows Server 2016+ and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) environments.
- Proficient understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware, Proxmox, StorMagic, or similar, including virtual machine lifecycle, snapshots, HA, and storage dependencies.
- Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Understanding of orchestration, configuration management, runbooks, and repeatable infrastructure deployments.
- Knowledge of local and network storage, backup, and high-availability implementations and configurations.
- Proficient understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall, and SSL/TLS concepts as they relate to systems services.
- Demonstrated proficiency with monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, Splunk, or similar.
- Proficient understanding of security controls for physical and virtual systems architectures.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to work on large-scale cross-functional projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Initiative and drive to do great things.
