We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of senior software engineers supporting and enhancing the company’s internal applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on software engineering experience, particularly with Python-based applications, as well as proven experience leading technical teams in a financial services, banking, fintech, payments, card operations, or related business environment. This role requires a balance of technical leadership, people management, delivery ownership, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with engineers, product managers, business stakeholders, and operations teams to ensure the successful delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure software solutions that support business-critical workflows.

What You'll Do:
Lead and manage a team of senior software engineers responsible for internal business applications

• Provide technical direction, architectural guidance, and engineering oversight across projects and features

• Own delivery planning, execution, prioritization, and quality across the team’s work

• Partner with product managers, business users, operations teams, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

• Guide the design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of software applications

• Review technical designs and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with company standards

• Support engineers through coaching, mentoring, code reviews, design reviews, and technical problem-solving

• Help define and refine engineering processes, coding standards, documentation practices, and delivery workflows

• Manage project priorities, deadlines, risks, dependencies, and team deliverables

• Ensure the team provides clear and high-quality asynchronous updates on progress, blockers, and delivery status

• Participate in planning meetings, workshops, roadmap discussions, and technical decision-making

• Collaborate with leadership to assess team capacity, delivery timelines, technical risks, and resourcing needs

• Drive continuous improvement across the software stack, development practices, and operational support processes

• Help maintain strong engineering discipline around code quality, system reliability, security, and production support

What We're Looking For:
BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent professional experience

• Minimum 7+ years of software engineering experience, with strong experience in Python

• Prior experience as a Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, Team Lead, Lead Developer, or Senior Software Engineer with formal leadership responsibilities

• Experience leading or mentoring senior engineers in the delivery of complex software applications

• Experience building or supporting applications in financial services, banking, fintech, payments, card operations, transaction processing, fraud, risk, compliance, or related domains

• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and engineering best practices

• Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, FastAPI, or similar

• Experience integrating data sources, databases, APIs, third-party systems, and backend services

• Strong understanding of databases, backend application design, APIs, and distributed system concepts

• Experience with version control tools such as Git

• Ability to guide front-end development efforts using modern frameworks and technologies

• Understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or modern front-end frameworks

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Ability to manage priorities, resolve ambiguity, and guide the team through competing business and technical demands

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially when working with financial, transactional, or operational data

• Must be flexible with any shift schedule
