As a Senior COBOL Developer, you will maintain and modernize mission-critical applications on IBM mainframes. You will connect legacy business logic with modern operational requirements, ensuring the stability and efficiency of high-volume processing systems in sectors like banking and insurance.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain complex COBOL programs for both batch and online mainframe environments.
• Optimize mainframe application performance using CICS, DB2, and VSAM to handle large-scale data transactions.
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing legacy codebases to resolve production issues, job failures, and system abends.
• Modernize legacy systems by developing interfaces, data feeds, and integration processes with newer technologies.
• Develop and manage JCL jobs to automate and streamline mainframe batch processing workflows.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including program specifications and job flow diagrams, to ensure system maintainability.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering with a focus on COBOL development.
• Proven expertise in maintaining and modernizing COBOL applications on IBM mainframes.
• Proficiency in working with CICS, DB2, and JCL in mainframe environments.
• Deep understanding of VSAM and both batch and online processing.
• Strong background in mainframe system architectures within banking, insurance, or government sectors.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
