As a Squad Leader for Database Operations, you'll drive a team of highly skilled and motivated database engineers, entrusted with delivering state-of-the-art database management solutions and pioneering initiatives that will chart the future of Kyndryl.

Your role as a Squad Leader extends beyond traditional leadership. You'll be the go-to expert in your technology and service domain—guiding, motivating, and mentoring your squad to ensure the seamless, high-availability delivery of business-critical 24x7 database platforms. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams is paramount to achieving our business objectives and transforming requirements into strategic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Squad Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of technical professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment and guiding career development.
• Service Delivery & SLA Management: Oversee business-critical 24x7 database operations, ensuring strict compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and continuously monitoring operational KPIs such as availability, incident backlog, capacity, performance, and recurring incidents.
• ITIL Operational Governance: Drive service management processes aligned with ITIL frameworks, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Capacity Management to guarantee platform stability and risk mitigation.
• Agile Delivery & Workflow Optimization: Run Agile ceremonies, efficiently handle operational backlogs, optimize team workflows and priorities, and drive continuous improvement in database delivery processes.
• Escalation & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary escalation point for technical incidents, engaging directly with customers and cross-functional business stakeholders to align technology with business needs.
• Domain Ownership & Strategy: Maintain end-to-end ownership of your database environment, translating complex business requirements into strategic, reliable, and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and mentor a team of database professionals and engineers.
• Multi-Platform Database Domain Expertise: Hands-on technical knowledge and operational expertise across major database platforms:Oracle DatabaseMicrosoft SQL ServerPostgreSQL / AWS Aurora PostgreSQLIBM Db2
• 24x7 Mission-Critical Operations: Proven track record operating and supporting business-critical 24x7 database services under strict uptime requirements.
• ITIL & KPI Frameworks: Deep experience implementing and managing ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and Capacity Management) and defining key operational metrics.
• Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex technical challenges, optimize delivery through smarter ways of working, and align database strategies with corporate goals.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Certifications: ITIL v3/v4 Certification, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMP, Six Sigma, or relevant vendor certifications (Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, IBM).
